"Villa Pignano è un bellissimo paradiso sconosciuto per tutti gli amici a cui piacciono il buon cibo toscano e l’ospitalità non convenzionale in un ambiente stupendo” "Villa Pignano is a beautiful secret paradise for all friends who like good Tuscan food and unconventional hospitality in a wonderful setting." (2011) Inge Feltrinelli Publisher, photojournalist and cultural ambassador Writers are quite peculiar when it comes to places and accommodations. Will I be able to write here? That is always the first question. There is no guarantee in five stars or the amount you pay. Inspiration is fed by many things, and Pignano has all of it. Beauty.....oh, so much of it. Tranquillity....yes! I don't remember any place (except my own house) that gave me so much peace in the past few years. But there are other ingredients that are very difficult to find...a spirit that feeds both body and soul. Pignano is soaked with it! And people you love to remember- at Pignano they make you feel you're part of the family while feeding you the most exquisite meals. (and of course you can make your own coffee in the kitchen). There are children in the yard and at noon it sometimes smells of elderflower pizza. I only had to sit down, whether with my notebook or the computer and - there was the next chapter. As you for sure notice - I can't wait to be back.
Cornelia Funke Author Of Pignano’s many sources of radiance, ancient history is one: it was once an Etruscan settlement. The Etruscans not only possessed savoir-vivre, but savoir-mourir. They were mysteriously serene epicures represented on their sarcophagi sated, smiling, and gazing with love at their spouses. In the eighteenth century, an Tuscan nobleman, the Marchese Incontri, restored the main villa, and his family name, which means “Encounters,” is karmically apt for the place that his country house has become. Pignano has always been--for me and others-- a locus of deeply soul- and body- satisfying encounters, not least of which with lost, silenced, or neglected aspects of one's own being. And then, well, it’s home. (2011)

“Pignano
embraces you. Everyone
comes back!
I have seen Pignano grow and change over the last five years and fulfil the dream of it’s forward thinking community of founders to offer the very best of Tuscan villa living, combining a superior level of accommodation and comfort with a truly healthy living style in a place of breathtaking beauty. When I leave and return to the world, I always feel more alive. When friends ask me where they should stay in Tuscany, I simply say, “Pignano is the place.” (2011)
Caroline Goodall Actress and Tuscan inhabitant Pignano
is my favourite place to stay in Italy. The location and beauty
of it is very special. Even though it's in the heart of Toscana and
very close to all the famous little towns, you feel that you are only
surrounded by nature - it's absolutely fantastic!
The place itself is beautifully done, it has a special atmosphere of being inside an Italian family, but also you can enjoy your own space and privacy. (2011) Viktoria Mullova Violinist "Pignano is the perfect place to paint, beautiful light and wonderful country. Solitude when you need it and the best convivial company when you want it."
